These are about my recent adventures in Italy. I will be posting images and occasional accompanying descriptions of what it is you are looking at.
Hope you enjoy the journey.
The town of Monterossa is made up of two parts. Fegina - is where you find the parking lots, the train station, the beach visitors and tourists. Centro Storico is preserved in its old world charm with winding lanes, and tiny shops. The ancient 16th century lookout tower was built after a 1545 pirate raid. There is also a concrete bunker, known as the 'Nazi pillbox', where gunners hid during the second World War.
Please join me and others at Vision and Verb , where a collaborative group of like-minded creative 'women of a certain age' share their passion for photography and the written word. You can read my first posting today.

Une étonnante dominante rose pour cette composition impressionniste

a beautiful pastel painting! it is hard to believe you could have been standing there and holding up your camera without fainting over from the sheer beauty of the scene!
i love that your first post will set the tone for us all on V&V!

The images you have been showing us of Italy, Marcie, are making me want to go back to Ialy SOON. I was on a Mediteranean cruise once that took me to several cities along the coast, but driving inland would be a dream. You have really whetted my appetitie.
And NOW I'm gonna check you out at V&V. YAAAAY! I totally agree with Robin about how glad I am YOU'RE paving the way for us. Thank you.

fabrizio on 18th January 2010 @ 2:37am
Very pastelly and captures the Mediterranean sunlight too - the shape of the tree on the bottom right is my favourite part of the picture.

yiannis krikis on 18th January 2010 @ 1:21pm
this reminds me of some of those old world painters works of art. After reading your first V&V post, I now understand why you embrace this style. Now there is more meaning to how I view your photos ... a whole new window has been opened.
Diane on 18th January 2010 @ 1:48pm
I have been thinking of the same thing as Diane after reading your V&V post. I just love how this makes me feel like I'm looking at a beautiful painting. Also the tree down right it's beautiful.
